Marty Conley's Big Band Express

The Big Band Express is San Diego's premier Big Band. Appearing throughout San Diego, the Big Band Express has shared its love of Big Band music through both original and new arrangements at places such as the La Jolla Country Club, Rancho Bernardo Country Club, Encinitas Elks Lodge, and countless private events throughout the region.

It would take a lot of space to detail Marty's illustrious musical career that spans as far back as the early 50s. But here's a quick recap:
Marty Conley was born and raised in rural Ohio. He played the trumpet from a very young age.
Joined the navy music program in 1957 and worked as a trumpeter band leader on ship-and-ashore all over the world, having had a lengthy tenure as the staff arranging master instructor.

Marty attended the Armed forces school of music, Little Creek VA
Retired in 1977 as a Master Chief Musician, with E-9, the highest attainable enlisted rank.
Played the Vegas showrooms for 12 years.
Played lead trumpet at the Sahara plus Reno Tahoe.
Backed some of the most prominent Jazz greats, such as Frank Sinatra, Wayne Newton, and Frankie Valli.

He arranged hundreds of tunes for big bands.
Worked with iconic arrangers such as Sammy Nestico and Stan Kenton.
Marty's charts are played today all over the world.
